Beer Institute Names Alex Davidson as Director of Media Relations

Washington, DC — The Beer Institute–one of the nation’s oldest trade associations representing America’s brewers, beer importers and industry suppliers–today announced Alex Davidson has joined the organization as its director of media relations. A graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park, Davidson most recently worked for Representative Paul Mitchell (R-MI) as his communications director. Before joining Representative Mitchell’s staff, Davidson worked for both Representatives Blake Farenthold (R-TX) and Mike Bost (R-IL).

BEER INSTITUTE RELEASES OCTOBER 2019 DOMESTIC TAX PAID ESTIMATE

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the Beer Institute published an unofficial estimate of domestic tax paid shipments by beer brewers for October 2019: The October 2019 estimate is 13,110,000 barrels, a decrease of 4.3% vs. October 2018 removals of 13,692,976. Please note that the estimates reflect revised estimates released by the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB).

Beer Institute Poll: 68% of Americans Support Extending Tax Relief for All Brewers and Beer Importers

Majority of Americans across the political spectrum want Congress to extend tax relief for America’s beer industry WASHINGTON, DC—Today, the Beer Institute released the results of its latest nationwide poll, finding 68 percent of American voters want Congress to continue federal excise tax relief for all of our nation’s more than 7,000 brewers and beer importers. This backing extends across all political ideologies, with the majority of conservative, moderate, and liberal American voters wanting Congress to maintain tax relief for brewers and beer importers.

Beer Institute Applauds House Agriculture Passing Legislation Requiring Study of Aluminum Markets

WASHINGTON, DC –Jim McGreevy, President and CEO of the Beer Institute—a national trade association representing brewers, beer importers, and industry suppliers—released the following statement praising the House Agriculture Committee including a U.S. General Accounting Office (GAO) study of the aluminum markets as part of legislation to reauthorize the U.S. Commodities Futures Trading Commission. ”The Beer Institute commends the bipartisan leadership of the House Agriculture Committee for including a GAO study of the aluminum markets as part of legislation to reauthorize the CFTC.

BEER INSTITUTE RELEASES SEPTEMBER 2019 DOMESTIC TAX PAID ESTIMATE

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the Beer Institute published an unofficial estimate of domestic tax paid shipments by beer brewers for September 2019: The September 2019 estimate is 14,386,000 barrels, an increase of 1.6% vs. September 2018 removals of 14,153,515. Please note that the estimates reflect revised estimates released by the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB).

Beer Institute Names Senators Gardner and Shaheen, Representatives Kelly and Lawson the 2019 Beer Champions

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Beer Institute is honoring U.S. Senators Cory Gardner (R-CO) and Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), as well as U.S. Representatives Mike Kelly (R-PA) and Al Lawson (D-FL), as the Beer Institute’s “2019 Beer Champions.” They were selected for their leadership in championing policies that allow brewers and beer importers to reinvest in their businesses, hire new employees and continue to innovate and create America’s favorite beers.

Beer Industry Leaders Join Forces to Drive Beer Growth with Launch of “Beers To That” Campaign

Today, the Beer Growth Initiative – a collaborative project of the Beer Institute (BI), National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA) and the Brewers Association (BA) – announced the initial market launch of its “Beers To That”  consumer campaign, which aims to elevate and celebrate the beer category while reminding consumers of legal drinking age who choose to drink alcohol that there is a beer for just about every occasion.
