Beer Institute CEO Releases Statement on Retirement Announcement of Molson Coors CEO Gavin Hattersley

WASHINGTON — Brian Crawford, president and CEO of the Beer Institute, the oldest national trade association representing the beer industry, shared the following statement on the retirement announcement of Gavin Hattersley, CEO of Molson Coors:
“Throughout his more than two decades in the beer industry, most recently as CEO of Molson Coors and as the current Chairman at the Beer Institute, Gavin has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership, guiding the BI with a clear, pragmatic vision.
“Gavin’s unwavering dedication to advocating for our industry and its interests has been his hallmark. He consistently prioritized the collective success of the brewers, beer importers and suppliers while remaining deeply committed to addressing our industry’s critical issues. His insights and experience, particularly in public policy, helped shape how the Beer Institute navigated the complexities of our industry in the United States and internationally while promoting responsible consumption, serving on the boards of the International Alliance for Responsible Drinking and the World Brewing Alliance.
“Gavin’s legacy will be felt far beyond his time in this position. His composed demeanor and thoughtfulness inspired all of us, creating an environment where collaboration and progress thrived. As we look to the beer industry’s future, we are incredibly grateful for his many contributions and wish him all the best in his retirement.”
Gavin served as Chairman of the Beer Institute twice and is currently in his third term. Under his leadership, Gavin promoted efforts to provide consumers with greater transparency through the Brewers’ Voluntary Disclosure Initiative, supported the industry through the Craft Beverage Modernization and Tax Reform Act and fostered the release of the Beer Institute’s principles on intoxicating hemp.
