Chris Kallam was the first teammate of Athletic Brewing west of the Mississippi and has an enormous hand in building out the team, leading it, and running two construction projects. A veteran of the Army, Chris served the country for over six years and did a 15-month tour of duty in the Middle East. After the Army, Chris rose through the ranks at Ballast Point in San Diego from Warehouse to Cellarman to Brewer to Operations Manager. Chris has carried the leadership lessons learned in the Army to Athletic where as a Senior Director of Operations, he leads by example, drives for efficiency and excellence, and carries extremely high standards of quality. While navigating the seriousness of the work, he’s always up to celebrate the mission with a pint and a laugh. Since Chris joined Athletic leading west coast operations, the company has grown headcount tenfold and production over a hundred times over which he played an enormous role in.
