During my deployments, alcohol wasn’t allowed, but the bases stocked non-alcoholic beer. NA Beer became a source of comfort and connection. In a world where everything familiar was stripped away—uniforms 24/7, living in tents—those bottles gave us a small sense of normalcy.

One of my most memorable moments came during a USO tour, when I had the honor of meeting Robin Williams. We clinked NA beer bottles together, sharing a brief but unforgettable moment. In that simple act, I found a reminder of home and the powerful memory forever linking beer and my years of service.
