While serving in the United States Marine Corp, I was honored to have the opportunity to work in various roles with varying responsibilities. I served as all Marines do as a rifleman first and then served as part of infantry team, security task force team, communication team and was grateful to have the opportunity to be a part of the Marine Corps Powerlifting Team. This portion, where I served as an athlete, included setting up a new training and gym facility at Camp Pendelton, as well as competing for the Marine Corps.
It was during this portion of my service that I was able to continue to develop deeper friendships with all levels of service personnel that would include active duty and retired Marines, from generals to new recruits. The biggest joys came with helping Marines who had sustained injuries during their service. Life can be difficult, and it can give us opportunities to be grateful. Hearing the stories of the some of the veterans reminds me of that. Serving is an honor as is servant leadership.
I served because I am grateful for this country, and I chose to work in an industry that reminds me of Marine values: honor, courage and commitment. At Molson Coors the values are similar: celebrate together, put people first, be bold and decisive, take accountability and learn every day.
